The London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) is pleased to announce the appointments of Sean Gregory and Tracy Langelaan as Superintendents of Education; and Julie Berkvens as Assistant Superintendent of Education, pending approval by the Ministry of Education.
The LDCSB is the fastest growing Catholic school board in the province, with a 30% increase in student population over the past five years. More than 4,400 employees work together to educate approximately 27,000 students in 44 elementary and 9 secondary schools in the region.
Sean started teaching with the LDCSB in 1998. In 2006, he was appointed vice principal at St. Martin (London) and then served as principal at St. Michael (London), Our Lady of Lourdes (Delaware), St. Mark (London), as well as Amethyst Provincial Demonstration School through a Ministry of Education secondment.
Some of the initiatives and projects Sean has been involved with are the LDCSB Leadership Council, Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), CPCO - Principal Qualification Program, Catholicity and Communications Committee, and the YMCA Children’s Safety Village Program Committee.
Tracy began her teaching career with the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board in 1998 at St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School, before transferring as a secondary school teacher with the TVDSB in 2001. In 2009, she entered a vice principal role and served at several secondary schools. She became a principal in 2013 and served at HB Beal and Oakridge secondary schools.
In 2020, Tracy joined TVDSB’s senior leadership team as a Superintendent. Her portfolio has included supporting Multilingual Learners (K-12); EQAO; School Effectiveness; Assessment & Evaluation; Student Trustee Mentor; Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education; as well as supporting and supervising several elementary and secondary schools.
Julie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in 1994 and a Master of International Education from Charles Sturt University in 2023.
In 2021, Julie was appointed Senior Administrator in Learning Services (Special Education), providing programming and consultative services and supervising Academic Staff-Consultant, Special Education, System Program Support Teachers, Itinerant Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Low Vision, and SEA Trainer.
